MR. ALEX CHAN
CHAIRMAN OF HONG KONG SEA TRANSPORT AND LOGISTICS ASSOCIATION
After graduating from secondary school, Mr. Chan received training as a senior deck officer of Golden Peak Shipping Co., Ltd., and has been serving in the shipping and logistics industry for more than 40 years. Among them, the services are ship management companies, container liner companies, container terminals, container leasing, container management, international freight forwarders, Asia-Pacific and global supply chain management companies, consulting service companies, etc. Engaged in seafarers, operations and operations management, global supply chain control tower, mergers and acquisitions, supply chain design and solutions, digitalization and other positions, ranging from Hong Kong, South China, Central/East China, Asia Pacific and the global.
Mr. Chan’s career start from in seafaring, specialising in maritime logistics and supply chain management services. His working experience started in Hong Kong and expanded to regional and global freight. He has experienced and participated in the booming period of Hong Kong due to China’s opening up and Hong Kong’s pivotal role as freight, sea and air transportation hub at the south gate of China. He also witnessed the development and changes of Hong Kong, East China/South China container terminals, and the acquisition of major shipping companies/international freight companies merger case.
MR. SUNNY HO
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF THE HONG KONG SHIPPERS’ COUNCIL
As he now shapes the thrust of the Shippers’ Council mandate as the voice of the Hong Kong shippers, he has considerable experience in aspects of trade and transport of goods. Mr. Ho is a member of the Logistics Industry Training Advisory Committee, Land and Development Advisory Committee and its Land Sub-committee, Board of the Urban Renewal Fund and Occupational Safety and Health Council of the Hong Kong SAR Government. He is the current Chairman of Hong Kong Logistics Management Staff Association, and Fellow and Council Member of the Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport (CILT) in Hong Kong. Mr. Ho has been Chairman of Hong Kong Liner Shipping Association, a member of Hong Kong Port Operations Committee, Trade Single Window User Consultation Group, Hong Kong Port Development Board, Hong Kong Town Planning Board, Hong Kong Logistics Development Council, International Vice President of Chartered Institute of Transport and Logistics, President of Chartered Institute of Transport and Logistics in Hog Kong, and Advisor of the Shenzhen Ports & Harbour Association.
MS. ELSA YUEN
PRESIDENT OF HONG KONG LOGISTICS ASSOCIATION
Elsa Yuen has been continuously engaged in Logistics and Supply Chain Management field more than 20 years and she has extensive experience in Global SCM during her stay in Korchina Logistic HK Limited and KDS Global Logistics Limited which is the subsidiary of Korchina Logistics Holdings Limited (Korean Owner) and their group has more than 40 branches in the world. Currently she is Managing Director, Yi Shing Logistics Co Limited focusing on High-value customer in 3PL/4PL Logistics development and e-Commerce Business.
She graduated from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University of MSc Global Supply Chain Management. She was the recipient of Young Logistician of Hong Kong Logistic Awards 2008. She is currently President of Hong Kong Logistics Association, Hong Kong Logistics Development Council Committee Member from 2017 to now, Hong Kong Environment and Ecology Bureau Advisory Committee Member, Hong Kong Commerce and Economic Bureau (TID Advisory Board) Member from 2024, Trade Development Council Committee Member 2023 and Founding Member, Logistics and Transportation Division, Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE), Vice Chairlady Hong Kong Air Freight and Forwarder Associations (HAFFA) 2022 and Advisor Committee Members of Hong Kong Polytechnic University in LMS Department and ISE Department. 2023 She is honored to have a Most Inspiring Supply Chian Award by the Supply Chain Asia (SCA) Awards Singapore which is a platform dedicated to honoring outstanding accomplishments and milestones of professionals and enterprises within the logistics and supply chain sector in Asia.
She has been actively promoting ESG SCM in the industry, though ESG evaluation to leading the SMEs to enhance their competitive advantages and achieve the sustainable development goals. On other hand, she has dedicated her time and effort in educating the young generation, under her leadership HKLA has organized 11th International Case Competition in 7 countries (China, Korea, Japan, Vietnam, Singapore, Bangkok, and Netherland). For Industry Practitioner, encouraging knowledge sharing and uplifting their skills in professional training particular in “Cold Chain Logistics Professional” (CCLP) and drive Smart Logistics initiatives and developments in Hong Kong.
