About the Speakers

1. Lawrence Ma
Lawrence has over 20 years of academics, finance and technology development and business experiences.

Lawrence is currently the CEO of eMALI.IO. eMALI, based in Hong Kong, is led and founded by Lawrence along with several industry veterans in 2016. The primary focus of eMALI is to develop blockchain applications in Public and Fin/Insur Tech sectors specializing on identity management, and customer care program.  eMALI has recently been chosen as one of the Top 5 Winners of AIA Blockchain Global Challenge; a global competition with entries from 19 countries.

Successful track record include: Implemented a proprietary algorithmic trading platform for a joint venture with ED&F Man; implemented together with Bain for Greater China an exotic derivatives pricing platform for Bank of China; cofounded the first independent factor in China, Orbrich (China) International Factors; implemented a trade finance risk management and operation platform for Orbrich.

Education: B.A. (Hon) (Yale University), M.S. (Stanford University), PhD (Cornell University)

2. Ludovic Depoid
Ludovic Depoid is Director of Tektos, a group focusing on the mobile accessories ecosystems, and is responsible of corporate development including finance, governance and innovation strategy. Pushing the introduction of new connected (IOT) devices, helping partners in the process of product innovation manufacturing and focusing on products design and simplicity are among his expertise. Ludovic has over 25 years of software and innovative consumer electronics product development experience in Asia.

3. Clarence Sham
Clarence Sham has been working in IBM for 20 years. He has been an IT Specialist, IT Architect, Technical Sales Manager, Consultant, etc in various IBM local and regional teams. He is currently a Client Technical Advisor looking after a number of financial accounts in Hong Kong.

4. Eddie Rong

Eddie is a young and passionate entrepreneur with formal backgrounds in Finance and Risk Management. Before starting the venture of HEYCOINS in Hong Kong, Eddie has multi-sector experiences in various companies across China, Singapore, Hong Kong and U.S: FWD Life Insurance (H.K), China Taiping Reinsurance (H.K), ICBC (China), Pan Pacific Hotels Group (S.G) and Neusoft Corporation (China).
