Biographies
Lester Lam
Lester is a social science student, majoring in psychology at the University of Hong Kong. He is ambitious, innovative, and heavily concerned about impacts on society. His major goal is to address social issues via a sustainable solution or business. Growing up in a grassroots family with a mentally ill relative, the problems he concerns about the most are mental illnesses, poverty, and environmental issues.
Studying design and visual arts in secondary school, creating artworks or graphic design cannot satisfy his passion for generating impacts on society. Therefore, he participated in the PolyU Innovation & Entrepreneurship Global Student Challenge (GSC) 2015 and entered the second round. In tertiary education, he participated in a semester-long volunteer program and different social service activities. All the 3 previous internships were in social enterprises, the fields included sport course, creative media, elderly care technology which was related to IoT.
The current internship as a project assistant in a social innovation incubator organization – Innovator Farm provides him with a chance to write a proposal for seeking a prize sponsor from a foundation. After joining the social innovation training and funding programme of Good Seed, Lester is now participating in a young entrepreneur program in Idea To Business and seeking learning opportunity and innovative ideas to address social problems.
Sally Yue
Sally is majoring in Business Administration at the Hang Seng University of Hong Kong. She is responsible and able to fit in the team with well time management. With a passion for entrepreneurship and emerging technologies that can change the world, her goal is to be a socially responsible entrepreneur. As a marketing student, she is good at documentation, customer relationship management and marketing research and always completes different projects with others efficiently.
Sally has worked as a marketing promotion assistant of iFLYTEK company in Mainland and an assistant in Tickfunds Consultancy Limited Company. She has extensive vacation work experience in technology, enterprise funding consultant, amusement industry and catering.
Wanda Cheung
Wanda is a Year 3 BBA(I-Entrepreneurship)student studying at Hong Kong Shue Yan University. As a BBA student, she is entrepreneurial, mature, and detail-oriented. In fact, Wanda is not only an Instagram shop owner of flower tea but also continuously participates in different competitions, such as the Cyberport Greater Bay Area Young Entrepreneurship Competition which she is capable to gain funding of 100 thousand HKD. She also has 1-year of experience as a customer service assistant at Hysan company and an internship of administration in the China Citic Bank (International Business Department). She is now studying a course regarding IoT and seeking an opportunity to explore more it. Her goal is to be an entrepreneur that can influence others.
Samson Chan
Samson is a Year 3 student of the Hang Seng University of Hong Kong, majoring in Financial Analysis. He is an ambitious, creative and self-motivated candidate, seeking to widen the horizon and leverage the skill of IoT. From the perspective of 3-5 years of career goals, he has a plan to become an entrepreneur. In 2019, for the idea of a jewellery rental platform, he has interned in a Hong Kong Jewelry shop to do market research. Samson is welcome to network with people in different industries and keeps busy but focus on one thing each time. He believes creating something valuable is always his passion and inspiration and hopes what he created can make the world a better place.
Leo Wong
Leo is an Art student, majoring in History at the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
As a History student, he concerns with highly influential things in the human world. He believes that the technology of the Internet of Things is exactly the thing that can reshape the future lifestyle of the whole world fundamentally.
Benefited from History, when inquiring about knowledge of new technology, he has a spirit to investigate patiently in order to have a thorough understanding of the technology of the Internet of Things.
His ultimate goal is to be an entrepreneur that can make a remarkable contribution to society. Therefore, he is also passionate about accounting and social innovation. He understands basic accounting as he has completed an accounting internship in 2020. With the experience of working in a social enterprise – Innovator Farm, he thinks new technology can be a new power to help social innovation.
