Hong Kong Internet of Things Alliance was originally established in October 2013 as a Non-Profit Society under the name of Hong Kong Internet of Things Association (reg. 0051301). In July 2016, in view of the growing member community (and a name confusion issue with another organization), the volunteers have set up, under the supervision of a Steering committee formed by industry leaders, the Hong Kong Internet of Things Alliance as a Limited by Guarantee in order to better serve the community.
